Optimal Temperature Monitoring for Your Dewars
In laboratories, cryobanks, and Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) centers, maintaining precise temperature in aluminum dewars is crucial for preserving biological samples.
However, not all dewars are equipped with control units, and often what matters most to operators is ensuring their biological samples are stored at the correct temperatures. For this reason, SIG has developed SPYMED, a comprehensive and user-friendly system that meets this need.
SPYMED consists of two components:
- TFT MASTER UNIT: This alarm module features a TFT touch-screen display and is classified as a Class IIb Medical Device. It provides real-time temperature visualization, data recording, and remote alarm and event management via Ethernet port. Mounted on the wall, it includes signaling LEDs, an audible alarm, and acoustic muting to be intuitive and adaptable to various needs.
- DATA LOGGER: This device monitors temperatures in real-time using cryogenic probes. Users can configure various temperature probes and set alarms of medium and high priority. Designed to be mounted onboard the container using a self-supporting bracket, it avoids modifying or damaging the container itself, thereby preventing potential warranty and certification losses. Equipped with OLED display and alarm signaling LEDs.
Temperature Monitoring at Every Moment
In case you need to move your Dewar, you can directly check the temperature from the DATA LOGGER on the lid, without having to look at it from the wall-mounted MASTER UNIT. This is possible thanks to the Plug & Play wiring connections and the Modbus-RTU protocol. Additionally, with the Ethernet port, you can record data and remotely manage alarms and events.
During use, the operator also has the option to automatically disable alarms by placing the cap on the provided wall bracket, as there is a switch underneath the device that will be pressed when the cap is placed and will automatically retract once the cap is put back on the dewar.
